A role-based fan-made tower defense: tanks draw enemies into a brawl, healers keep them standing, and DPS bring them down. Survive all 40 waves plus endless. Unofficial and non-commercial. Plays right in your browser.
How to play
- Pick a map and difficulty, then start. Enemies follow a fixed path — if they reach the goal you lose lives.
- Select a job in the bar and click (or tap) an empty cell next to the path to place it.
- Killing enemies earns gil. Spend it on new jobs or level-ups (up to level 5).
- Click a placed job to level it up, dismiss it, or change its targeting priority.
- Clearing a wave charges the LB gauge. Spend it on Shield Wall (party mitigation), Healing Wind (full heal + revive), Braver (single-target nuke) or Meteor (area bombardment).
- Call the next wave early to earn bonus gil based on the time remaining.
- Survive all 40 waves to win, then push your limits in endless mode.
What is XIV Job Defense?
XIV Job Defense is an unofficial, non-commercial fan-made tower defense game inspired by the jobs of FINAL FANTASY XIV. It runs entirely in your browser — no download, no account. Tanks hold the line, healers keep them standing, and DPS bring enemies down — a role-based defense where your units have HP and enemies stop to fight them. 8 jobs (more coming), 40 waves plus an endless mode, 5 maps, and 3 difficulty levels.
Job roles
Paladin covers allies and turns invincible; Warrior heals by attacking and survives at 1 HP with Holmgang. White Mage brings AoE heals and Benediction; Scholar shields allies and places a regen fairy. Monk speeds up while fighting, Dragoon Jumps across the whole map, Bard buffs with song, and Black Mage alternates Fire and Blizzard. Each job translates its FFXIV identity into a role — with more jobs on the way.
Strategy basics
The core triangle: tanks stop enemies in their tracks, DPS grind them down, and healers keep the tank alive. Enemies engage nearby units (tanks first), so anchor a tank by the path with healers and DPS behind. Hate-blind Ghosts and AoE bosses will test your formation. See the strategy guide for details.
